CG Bio acquires European CE certification for hyaluronic acid filler

Posted by ThomsonCathy on

CG Bio announced that it has obtained European certification (CE) for two types of hyaluronic acid (HA) filler products.

The products that have newly obtained European certification are 'GISELLELIGN' and 'VOM'. Both products are used to correct soft tissue defects in the facial area. It contains a local anesthetic to temporarily relieve pain. CG Bio has secured a total of 10 types of CE-certified products, including these two.

GISELLELIGN is a product made by mixing HA gel and particles with a patented method. The ‘multi-layered’ technology that strengthens the pulling force inside the filler material and makes the periphery into a soft formulation is applied. It is explained that the interface where the filler is injected appears smooth during injection. This product has been verified for efficacy and safety excellence in promoting the production of skin components such as collagen and elastin through animal tests last year. In 2019, it obtained a sales license in China and is exporting. It is preparing for local clinical trials to obtain approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

VOM focused on alleviating edema that may occur temporarily during administration by using hyaluronic acid with sufficient moisture. According to the company, it is suitable for busy office workers or people who do not want the procedure to be visible.

CG Bio is producing the filler products at a filler-only manufacturing facility that meets the global good pharmaceutical quality management standards (cGMP). It also obtained medical device product certification in Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, and Colombia.
